The ‘Facts of Life’ – ‘Left or Right’

It is extremely hard to talk about “The two major political parties” when you live in Hawaii where the Democrats aka Liberals (controlled by Unions) rule like Kings/Queens running their own little fiefdom’s and where the Republicans keep pounding on the front gate with little effect. If you think the Democrats have been doing a great job you MIGHT want to read this article:

That said, I do believe we have a FEW Democrats that, in my opinion, are ‘Democrats in name only’ because that is the way to get elected here. When you actually talk to them (something you can do in this State) you find their views are quite like their own only they think they are ‘liberal’ ie:

1. Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry

2.  Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded

Now I only picked TWO of the MANY definitions of “liberal or being liberal” but they provide enough humor for this particular blog post.  Lets start with the SIMPLE word from the first definition – bigotry:

1. a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially   : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance!

SO – think about the above statement then think about the “Tea Party”!   Now that you are thinking about IT, think about what your Liberal friends say about the “Tea Party” and its members? MOST of whom they know NOTHING about…  Now feel free to go to any liberal BLOG (Huffington comes to mind as one of the most liberal) and see what THEY say about “TP” and members. NOW – convince me that liberals (not all) aren’t BIGOTS!

Once you get past the fact that MANY (again, not all) Liberals are Bigots, the second definition of a liberal is a joke! SO – in my opinion and that of MANY others, if you ARE a Liberal & a Democrat YOU are just a tad clueless and are NOT being HONEST with yourself…

Since many of the Democrats profess to be  “tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded” you would think that they and the Republicans could find a common ground. How many of you have seen this happen? Raise of hands please!

I don’t have a lot of compassion for the Hard left OR the Hard Right. For years I was a Republican but admit that the hard core have gone beyond anything the ‘old’ republican party used to be and I have long since given it up to return to my independent upbringing.

While writing this post I did some searches to see if I could find something that gave a good comparison of the two parties. The link below was one of the best:

I know I will never BE a democrat, no matter how convenient it would be while living in Hawaii. The very idea of that I should give up what I have earned to make life easier for someone that doesn’t even try to better themselves is NOT on my agenda!

  1. Walter Russell Mead analyzes the foreign policy views of the Tea Party movement in a 2011 essay published in Foreign Affairs . Mead says that Jacksonian populists, such as the Tea Party, combine a belief in American exceptionalism and its role in the world with skepticism of American’s “ability to create a liberal world order”. When necessary, they favor total war and unconditional surrender over “limited wars for limited goals”. Mead identifies two main trends, one somewhat personified by Paul and the other by Palin. “Paulites” have a Jeffersonian approach that seeks to avoid foreign military involvement. “Palinites”, while seeking to avoid being drawn into unnecessary conflicts, favor a more aggressive response to maintaining America’s primacy in international relations. Mead says that both groups share a distaste for “liberal internationalism”.

  2. I every time emailed this weblog post page to all my contacts, because if like to read it next my friends
